Customer engagement: fad or objective phenomenon

I completely agree with you that customer engagement is by no means a new social phenomenon exclusive to the Internet age. I also however believe that online customer engagement is more than offline customer engagement on steroids. I believe that it involves much more than a quantitative increase in the efficiency, ease and speed of interaction. Online customer engagement is from this pov a qualitatively new social phenomenon, which our marketing and sociological models of the past can only inform.
I am glad that you are interested in this topic Brittain as i would like to start a conversation on it. I would very much enjoy it if you d care to join.
Check also last year's Customer Engagement Survey here: http://www.cscape.com/features/Pages/Customerengagementsurvey.aspx. (v.short registration needed) When the new one is ready i ll make sure to post it
