Purpose
One of the most common responses taken when working with Kalivo Listeners is sharing some web clippings with colleagues. The "Press Release" is your vehicle for quickly doing so.
Methodology
Circulating a press release involves a few simple steps:
1) Locate web clippings of interest
2) Create a press release
3) Add the web clippings to the press release
4) Publish or circulate the press release
We'll discuss each step in detail next, but it's worth pointing out that you can often accomplish more than one step simultaneously (e.g. creating a press release AND adding clippings).
Locate Web Clippings
Identify web clippings in the usual ways using the Listeners/Web | Web Clippings section. Check the box(es) next to any web clippings you want to circulate. For a refresher on working with web clippings read our primer.
Create a Press Release
There are two ways you create a press release. The simplest involves creating the press release while adding one or more web clippings. After checking the box(es) to right of the web clipping(s), select Distribute Via... from the Action selection list. A list of press releases will appear including an option to -- Create 'PR MM-DD' -- where "MM-DD" is today's month and day:

Clicking the Go button will create a press release named "PR 03-02" (or whatever today's date is) and add the web clippings.
The second way you create a press release is from the Listeners/Web | Press Releases section. From the top of the Press Releases list, click on Create New, enter the press release information, then click Create. Once created you add web clippings as described next.
Add Web Clippings to a Press Release
After selecting web clippings, you add them to a new or existing press release by choosing Distribute Via... from the Action select list:

A Press Release select list will appear showing the existing press releases and an option to create a new one. Note, by default the last press release you've worked with today will be pre-selected. To finish adding the web clippings, simply select a press release and click the Go button.
If you desire, you may add a single web clipping to as many press releases as necessary.
Also, after adding web clippings you normally return to the Web Clippings list where you can continue reviewing or adding other clippings. If you want to immediately review the press release, you can check the Review? box before clicking Go. If so, you will immediately see the articles in your press release.
Remember, you must have one or more web clippings "checked" before adding, otherwise Kalivo will ask you to "Please select one or more...".
Publish or Circulate a Press Release
From your Hub you can view any press release using the Tag Cloud. Each press release automatically has a like-named tag created for it and all web clippings are tagged. Therefore, if you create a release named "PR 03-02" you can view its article by clicking on "PR 03-02" in the Tag Cloud sidebar widget.
Coming Soon!
In a future release, you'll be able to publish your press releases as Adobe PDF files and forward these to colleagues and Hub members via e-mail.
Other Activities
There are a number of other actions you might perform with a press release:

Note, deleting a press release will delete the associated tag, but has no effect on the conversations or web clippings.
Renaming a Press Release: from the Press Releases list, rename an existing release by clicking on the Edit icon, updating the Name field, then clicking the Update button.
Removing an Article from a Press Release: removing article(s) from press releases is simply a matter of untagging the article. In the screenshot below, you untag from the press release by clicking the blue [x] beside the tag "PR 03-02":

- Changing from "Press Release" to another term: you may change the term "Press Release" to whatever you desire in the Administration Home | Labels section.
