Tasks for Production Boxes

The following tasks need to be performed on the production boxes, the next time an update/maintenance period is scheduled.

Box 1

Remove the alias for the "ps" command.

Box 4

Remove this box from the cluster and Install ruby 1.8.6 patchlevel 0 on it. Restart mongrel services and add it back to the cluster.

When the source code is checked out for ruby 1.8.6 patchlevel 0 it does not include the configure file. Install autoconf and run it to generate the configure file as follows.

yum install autoconf
./autoconf
./configure
make
make test
make install

Install the monitoring script for the slave database and run it every three minutes by adding it as a cron job.
