An excellent presentation on hi5's use of OpenSocial and shindig. Besides presenting some strong arguments about why to use OpenSocial gadgets, it also provides some good usage statistics. The following are some highlights:

Hi5 consists of 80 million users (40 million unique) throughout the world.
Deployed their own instance of shindig on tomcat 6
1. OpenSocial object graph implemented restfully using Enunciate.
Architecture deployment graph similar to our suggestion (slide 55)
They have a cluster of 30 servers that have handled 6.4 billion requests since launch. (slide 56)
1. Servers average 200req/s, 4-500 possible
2. Max traffic of 7000req/s for the entire cluster
Launched tomcat 6 version on 3/3.
1. Using 328 applications today
2. Average of 3 apps per profile, up to 16.
